Wordpress 2.5 Dashboard Error

I recently upgraded this blog to Wordpress 2.5. Everything appears to be fine. However when I went to upgrade The Eye, I had a number of issues. One of them was that I couldn’t access the dashboard, when I clicked on site admin.

I could get around this by editing a post instead, which took me into admin that way, but I really wanted to get the dashboard to work, as the site admin link is a handy one, and anyway, it’s supposed to work, and I wanted it to!

It’s the dashboard widgets entry that has gotten itself screwed up.

This is what you do:

Go into your cPanel for the domain.

Open up phpMyAdmin, go to the wp_options table, click on “Search” at the top. Next to the option_name label, type in dashboard_widget_options, and hit “Go”.

Just one row should pop up. Delete that  row by clicking the X.

It worked for me.
