Open Office Extensions
I much prefer Open Office to the Microsoft version. OK, yes it’s free, but if MS Office was such a good suite, I wouldn’t hesitate to shell out the bucks for it. It has some good ideas, and some good integration ideas, but it’s slow, and unwieldy, and that’s on a machine with an AMD 64 x2 4400 CPU, and 4GB RAM. I trialled the 2007 version.
So, it’s back to OpenOffice.org.
Now, I’ve downloaded some of the many extensions for OpenOffice. Installing them is easy, OpenOffice does it for you! In my next article, I shall review the extensions I’ve chosen, and detail how well I find them to work.
