Does Twitter Encourage Disloyalty?

A few days ago I read a comment from Jesse Stay in which he was suggesting that Twitter encourages disloyalty.
He feels that Twitter encourages potential blog subscribers to not subscribe, but rely on Twitter links instead to reach the content that they want to read.
I’m not so sure that this is vastly different [...]

Comcast Complaint

I’m not by nature a particularly secretive person. In fact, I probably talk too much. I’ve got nothing to hide; no skeletons in the closet,  but I do like to decide what I tell people about myself, and what I don’t.
The same goes with my contact information.
Personally I’ve never seen much of a need for [...]

Installing Hauppauge PVR-250 in Windows 7

I had such fun with this. NOT.
I spend a fruitless evening trying to get this to work.  The card isn’t certainly a new one, but it works, and it’s good enough for the occasional use that I give it. I rarely watch TV, but it’s useful to have for the occasions that I do want [...]

Installing HP Officejet 5500 Series AIO in Windows 7

It’s simple!
There are no Vista Drivers for this printer, let alone Windows 7 ones,  so don’t waste your time going through thdrop down options at hp.com.
Instead go here: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software8/COL18679/dj-48308-1/HP_Vista_SF_Ph2A.exe
Download this, run it, and your HP 5500 Series Printer will work just fine.

Do You Think Minimalist Is Best?

If you’re a regular reader in here, you’ll surely have noticed that the theme has changed.
Now, I’ll fess up here. I’m all for content. I want to read when I go to a blog. OK, an image or two is nice, and we all know that a picture speaks a thousand words… sometimes.
Still, the [...]

Kick Ass Windows Security At a Kick Ass Price

I have been using Sunbelt VIPRE security suite for a number of months now, having tried out the beta version, and then moving onto the paid version when it was released. I wholeheartedly recommend this software. It’s light on resources, but heavy on squashing the viruses, spyware, and rootkits.
It seems to be very good at [...]

The Other Inbox

When I saw this, my initial reaction, was “What’s the point?”. Then I thought haven’t I got enough mail accounts already? Why don’t I use one of my existing accounts, such as that yahoo or hotmail one that is around somewhere and fills up with spam anyway?
Still being curious, I thought I’d give it a [...]
